Dr Cochrane completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Melbourne in 1993, obtaining Honours in all subjects. After working in the Royal Melbourne Hospital, where she took part in the Physician Training Program, she undertook her Ophthalmology Training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital (RVEEH). During that time, she was awarded the K.G. Howsam Medal, the Cedric Cohen Medal, and a RANZCO/ARVO Travelling Scholarship.

After completing her Ophthalmology Fellowship, Dr Cochrane travelled to the United Kingdom to work with Professor Andrew Dick in the areas of retinal disorders and unveitis.

Upon her return to Melbourne, Dr Cochrane was appointed a Consultant Ophthalmologist in the Medical Retinal Unit at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.

Dr. Cochrane has expertise in;
• Diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions affecting the retina, including macula degeneration, diabetes and vein occlusions
• Glaucoma – laser and stent procedures
• Cataract – laser-assisted surgery
• Diabetes-related eye conditions
• Intravitreal injection techniques & laser

She is currently a Member of the Australasian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the Australian and New Zealand Society of Retinal Specialists.

Dr Chow is an Ophthalmologist and Cataract Surgeon with a subspecialty interest in Macular & Retinal conditions. Completing her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Melbourne and ophthalmology training at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, she undertook further subspecialty training in Cambridge and Oxford in the United Kingdom.

Dr Chow is an experienced Cataract Surgeon who operates using modern phacoemulsification and laser-assisted cataract surgery techniques. She aims to correct astigmatism with intraocular lenses to optimise visual outcomes. 

She has expertise in management of eye conditions affecting the retina, including macular degeneration, diabetes, vein occlusions and inherited retinal diseases. She is skilled in administering intravitreal injections and laser photocoagulation. Her subspecialty knowledge allows her to treat patients who have both cataracts and retinal conditions comprehensively. 

Dr Chow is currently a member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Retinal Specialists. She has public hospital appointments as a consultant ophthalmologist at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and the Austin Hospital.
